NAKA-KON 2010:

It was totally fun, but...

I think I'm moving on from anime a bit. I still love anime, don't get me wrong, yet I don't find it as enjoyable as I used to. When I watch an old anime series, I can find it more enjoyable and fun to watch, and actually connected with the characters and such.

But mostly conventions are filled with new-age anime goers, along with the merchandise and panels filled with newer anime. I understand that's the way it goes, but I just wish it didn't have to be the only old anime anyone freakin' remembers are DBZ and Sailor Moon. WTF ppl. Newer anime is just FILLED WITH CLICHE'S AND OVERUSED BULLSHIT 8I. Can I get a new anime thats actually CREATIVE?

AND I wish I wasn't one of the only people who cheer and yell at a Masquerade for a cosplay of a character from an anime that was over (or near) 10 years old. I saw a girl with an AMAZING Utena cosplay for the Masquerade this year. When she came on the stage, I SCREAMED for her. I knew hardly anyone was going to know where the hell she's from, so I hollered and cheered for her.

The rave was still a blast. I even got a wolf-call from a guy (he must be immune to homely, boyish-looking chicks? 8I). My friend who went with me kept telling me of all the times it looked like I was "dirty dancing". Hey. Dancing should be spontaneous and free. Not every white chick dances like a... well, white chick. So shut up, huh?

In the end, I kinda just wanted to buy my merchandise, go to the rave and then leave. I might just go for one day next year. But I did LOVE AMV Hell 8D

-T-shirt of Dr. McCoy, parodying the House logo underneath him (FUCK YEAH FIRST THING I BOUGHT DOWN THERE, plus a lot of people were saying "I'm a doctor, not a ____" when they say me wearing it. FFFFF <3)

This was also the first time I tried an energy drink. FUCKING NEVER AGAIN.

I drank two little bottles of them, but they FUCKED ME UP. I was so hopped up on energy still, but my body was so sore and tired. My mother suggested that I take a relaxing bath. When I had the tub already filled up, I changed my mind and drained it. I tried to shower, and didn't want a shower either. I then felt like the bathroom was too small for me and ran from it, shaking, crying, and breathing heavily O_o.

I felt so conflicted on whether I should walk around and ignore the fact that my body was screaming in pain, or lay down and not be able to sleep.

My sister even saw me acting like a freaking looney, and ran outside IN THE SNOW to tell my mother that I was going crazy.

SO YEAH. NEVER AGAIN. WOOOO FUN TEIMS YEAHHH?

I feel so relieved right now! My arrangements for Naka Kon next year have been worked out early, like I wanted them!

This year, were just going to stay up all night and wander around, hopped up on 5 Hour Energy and sweets. Besides, it saves us me and Kels $60 each. Money for stupid otaku crap 8D

This year at the con, I'm gonna try to buy the entire Utena series and movie while I'm down there. As much as I want the series in English Dub, I want to buy it in raw Japanese, since they're easier to rip in Adobe (for shitty amv's lol)

The only thing is, I'm not cosplaying this year :(. NO MORE UTENA COSTUME. My tradition will be broken, since the first anime con I went to, I've cosplayed in each one. But, I might buy a SAILOR FUKU INSTEAD. I always wanted to wear one, and I found a good one for about $26 :). I wanted to cosplay as Harley Quinn if Utena didn't work out, but... it'd be my own interpretation of her style (her colors, mixed with her bubbly personality), and I don't want it to look all "GOTHIC HOLY SHIT DARK KNIGHT BULLFUCKINGCRAP", like everyone is going to think anyway >:(

But yeah. HOORAY FOR XTRA MONEY TO SPEND.

Memoir topics

So, today I was trying to think of a particular memory for a memoir paper I'm suppose to turn in tomorrow (cuz procrastination iz wat all the cook kidz r doin)

I wanted a memory that wasn't depressing, since it sounded like he expected everyone to turn in something sad. Not me. Nope. I wanted a particular memory that was happy, or hilarious.

And then...BAM!! I got it.

When I was around 6 years old, I remember swinging on the swing set at the south end park of my town. I was swinging in the opposite direction, facing a large part of land that went downhill, with a small building where the restrooms were.

So, I was just swingin', minding my own business, when suddenly--

BATMAN COMES JUMPING OUT FROM BEHIND THE BUILDING, LOOKS AROUND HEROICALLY, AND THEN DISAPPEARS BEHIND THE BATHROOM BUIDLING AGAIN, AND I NEVER SAW HIM COME BACK AROUND.

I am not kidding. I had a (somewhat) personal encounter with Batman as a child. Maybe that's why I like Batman so much...

So I thought: "Yeah. This should bring in a few lulz."

It was either this, or the story of when my youngest sister, Sarah, was a tiny baby, my mom was driving on the highway bridge, and Sarah's door just swung open. She wasn't even buckled into her goddamn car seat! I had to save the day...

It was terrifying D8

So yeah, enough of my stupid nostalgic stories.
