Do you think society puts too much pressure on people to be in relationships and/or have children? Do you think this ostracizes people who would be perfectly content to remain single and/or child-free? Is this pressure worse around the holidays?

Yes, yes, and YES. I'll be damned if I end up as a parent and/or wife.

So, today I was trying to think of a particular memory for a memoir paper I'm suppose to turn in tomorrow (cuz procrastination iz wat all the cook kidz r doin)

I wanted a memory that wasn't depressing, since it sounded like he expected everyone to turn in something sad. Not me. Nope. I wanted a particular memory that was happy, or hilarious.

And then...BAM!! I got it.

When I was around 6 years old, I remember swinging on the swing set at the south end park of my town. I was swinging in the opposite direction, facing a large part of land that went downhill, with a small building where the restrooms were.

So, I was just swingin', minding my own business, when suddenly--

BATMAN COMES JUMPING OUT FROM BEHIND THE BUILDING, LOOKS AROUND HEROICALLY, AND THEN DISAPPEARS BEHIND THE BATHROOM BUIDLING AGAIN, AND I NEVER SAW HIM COME BACK AROUND.

I am not kidding. I had a (somewhat) personal encounter with Batman as a child. Maybe that's why I like Batman so much...

So I thought: "Yeah. This should bring in a few lulz."

It was either this, or the story of when my youngest sister, Sarah, was a tiny baby, my mom was driving on the highway bridge, and Sarah's door just swung open. She wasn't even buckled into her goddamn car seat! I had to save the day...

It was terrifying D8

So yeah, enough of my stupid nostalgic stories.

This manga is deep, weird, and yet, so very cute. Click here to read it.

I just read this manga today.

Punpun is so adorable. He's just trying to be a good boy :)

If I ever have a pet bird someday, his name will be Punpun. Hands down.

But be warned, there is some graphic stuff in here. Other than that, it's a touching story.

Browsing through DeviantArt, around here a bit, and other places, I've come to notice that many girls who love animation, their role models were always, most likely, a Disney princess.

I don't know about anyone else, but I've never really seen any of the princesses as role models for me, growing up. Jasemine was definitely close, and Belle could have been, too, if the Beauty and the Beast didn't scare the living crap outta me as a child.

Everyone's favorite seems to be Ariel, though. Yeeaahh, never liked The Little Mermaid that much so...

You know who my role models were? Lola Bunny, Roxanne from A Goofy Movie, and Crysta from Ferngully: The Last Rainforest. I know that Lola was a definite character that I loved, and that I think I still love. What can I say, she's spunky and tough. Crysta was adventurous and unique, and Roxanne... I dunno XD. She was a nice person...?

FFF wtf, younger self? XD

But now that Tiana is being introduced into the Princess group, I think I finally have a Disney Princess to look up to. I haven't even seen the damn movie yet, and I already love Tiana. I admire and respect her for everything that the video explains. It may seem 19 years too late, but dammit, she's finally here, and I ain't passing it up!

...two days ago I saw the MJ movie, and yes: I wore the glove 8D. I wore one of my two MJ shirts as well with it.

The people my age and younger all had the same expression: "Pfft, whut teh fack is dat gurl wearin'?"

The older folks were like: "That's bitchin'!"

The movie didn't make me cry (like I thought it would), but the Earth Song performance almost did me in.

My favorite line in the whole movie:

Michael: "It needs more booty."

OKAY YEAH I DIED. I SENSE ICONS AND MACRO'S SOON 8D

Wow. Just wow. Today was WONDERFUL!! <3 It really turned around for me!

This morning started out difficult, with my teacher scolding me for not having my materials on time (due to my current family life going haywire). I didn't pick up the materials last night, b/c I told my mother to rest and take it easy. She's had it really hard lately, and I don't want to see her so depressed.

So today, as I ran in to my first class, my teacher walked out and told me to get inside quick, cuz there was a teacher talking about a course I was interested in. So, I walk in, and guess what?

I can start taking fundametals in animation course next semester.

HOLY. EFFING. SHIT.

You guys have no idea how excited I am. I'm like...woah.

8D

Although, I have a ton of homework to do. Bawwww~

Your British Name Is Genevieve Sophie

Bloody brilliant!

EDIT:

LOL, how'd it get the father thing correct XD??

You Are Driven and Focused

You view people with optimism. You have many meaningful relationships in your life.

You had more conflict with your father than your mother. Your relationship with him was difficult and possibly unhealthy.

You deal with stress in an effective and competent matter. You are able to remain calm.

You are the type of person who knows how to get a lot done. However, sometimes you can't help but get overwhelmed by life.

Pretty much my same opinion in the future of 2D animation.

For English, I'm going to write an essay on the 2D vs. 3D debate, and use this article as one of my sources.

There is only a great few of 3D animated movies I can stand. Like, 9 and Monsters Inc. Those are really good ones. But stuff like Ice Age and Back to the Barnyard, I move away from as much as possible.

I want to make sure that the future of traditional 2D animation doesn't get tossed aside and never used again. And that's why I don't like to color digitally very much. And when I do, I usually just feel hollow in the end. Even if I somehow manage to make the best digital artwork ever, I won't feel anything in the end. It's the exact opposite for me if I actually sit down, and draw 'till my fingers cramp.

When I do it digitally, it seems too simple and doesn't make you enjoy the experience. When I draw with traditional tools, I remember the detail I did for every line and every coloring job.

That is exactly the magic of traditional art. And this is why I refuse to buy a fucking tablet or Photoshop. People call me old fashioned, or to get with the new age of artwork, and I can't stand that. There is no way I'm catering to pretentious people like that.

This article just says it all for me.
